Nǐ hǎo everyone!
I haven't posted in awhile because nothing has really been happening, but I just thought that I would update my progress. I still haven't received any of my host family and placement information, but I have heard that China is one of the slowest countries in regards to that so I'm not worried. In the meantime I have been working on my mandarin. A lovely girl who is going with me to China has been helping me over Skype. She is amazing, she is fluent in reading, writing, and speaking! I couldn't have asked for a better tutor. One of the most exciting things is that I have officially gotten my ticket to fly to LAX, for my gateway Orientation! Now that I have it, China seams even closer and I am getting more and more excited.
Recently when I am not practicing Mandarin, watching Chinese movies, or preparing for the trip, I have been hanging out with my friends. Now that I am so close to leaving for a year I am going to be so sad to leave them, especially my two best friends, Maddie and Teal. While trying to cram in as much time as I can with them, they have been really supportive, and just a shout-out, I love you both so much. I hope to have more news soon, but in the meantime I hope everyone has an amazing summer.
Zài jiàn!
